SOLASTALGIA is a visceral, operatic recounting of the forces of climate change and human development that continue to reshape California and our collective psyche.  It’s also a dialougue between a father and son, as a filmmaker attempts to create a myth in the midst of historic drought and looming wildfire.

“[Solastalgia] is the pain experienced when there is recognition that the place where one resides and that one loves is under immeadiate assault.  It is manifest in an attack on one’s sense of place, in the erosion of the sense of belonging to a partiular place and a feeling of distrerss about it’s transformation.”
